I'm O.D.-ing on beautiful scenery --- add Bergen to the list! Yet one more gorgeous sunny summer day in Norway. Cindy and I ventured out on our own to explore the town and took the funnicular up Mt. Floyen and then walked back down (about a 45 minute walk). Just as we got back to the bottom of the little train, we were mistaken for locals (!!!) and asked questions (in Norwegian!) by a visitor. Too funny! I suppose tourists just don't do any walking on their own. Lots of tall, thin, blonde folks were on the trail with us, goodness knows, I didn't fit that mold! But here's me at the top of Mt. Floyen. (The smile is because we hadn't started walking yet!)
Even the McDonalds is too cute to believe!
Once we got down from Mt. Floyen, we walked around town. Here's a picture looking across the fountain back up to where we had walked down from.
Vikings ahoy!
Folks enjoying a picnic in the park -
I love the mix of old and new in this picture!
